Schools and Education
Costa Mesa prides itself on having multiple higher education institutions, including Whittier Law School, National University, Vanguard University, and Orange Coast College.
As far as the younger folks go, there are 26 local public schools. Live in, or live out boarding schools are an option for highly independent youths or ultra-busy parents, while parochial and private day schools give additional options. Public day schools include the Charter school alternative which has existed for some time but was often shrouded in an inexplicable secrecy and mystery.
Home schooling is a realistic chance for many, despite its sometimes controversial nature, and private schools can be less expensive than many new cars: that’s a fact that might surprise you if had thought that private had to mean expensive.
